These Moon and Sea wooden pendants can take the best part of a day to make. Combining a variety of skills I've honed in joinery, marquetry and silversmithing, I carve and inlay these tiny sculptural forms that embody the majesty of nature.

This Moon and Sea Pendant is carved in recycled walnut, inlaid with a central rainbow rose-cut moonstone, surrounded by eco silver stars, above a striking paua shell sea.

It will be hung on a Sterling Silver 18" snake chain. Or alternatively, if you alre allergic to Silver,  please contact me and I can make a  Hemp cord with slip knots.

Walnut

The healing properties of Walnut are said to help us to rely on our inner wisdom and discernment, prior to making decisions or taking any next steps.

Rainbow Moonstone

This moonstone has incredible bright blue flashes in it, much like the hot blue you see in the centre of a roaring fire. Moonstone is said to help us to open up from the crown, to remember our true nature, connecting to our intuition and insight, and, to all the different cycles we experience in life.

New Zealand Paua Shell

This shell piece has a natural perspective to it, with tight sea waves at the top creating distance, merging with larger waves at the foreground. In some lighting conditions it has simple greens with an exciting deep splash of lapis and electric blue. In other lights, it changes to deep orange, sunset tones, which are striking and captivating and contrast beautifully with the dark blues.

Eco Silver Starry Skies and Horizon with Stirling Silver Chain

Sometimes these starry skies turn out a bit crazy and non-uniform which has its own wild magic, other times they appear ordered, balanced, bright and strong, the latter of which these are. The symbolism of Silver is said to restore equilibrium and stability, while bringing protection by reflecting any unwanted energies away. On the reverse of the pendant are three stars in an inverted triangle. They symbolise wild, female, untameable, creative power also known as 'Shakti' in Indian tradition. This is Georgie Gilmore's makers mark.

  • * Please note each piece of work is unique and handmade using natural organic materials. The pendants have small imperfections e.g. there may be tiny nicks in the shell which is part of the natural weathering process, or non-uniform woodgrain, or some making marks. I don't sand and finish to a uniform machine standand. These pendants are not mass produced but made by the raw energy of a woman's heart and hands. My own cycle informs and influences my woodwork and I try to allow for this too as that is often where the real magic happens - sometimes pieces are wild, other times calm - but they are always lovingly made.
